I have two hutches and a run. There are two guinea pigs per hutch, so they have an ample amount of space, which I am pleased about.

The first hutch is like this one, but it have a pointed roof.

I have converted it so that I am using the top floor as a storage floor, as the pigs cannot seem to be able to get up and down the ramp. The ramp was designed for rabbits and is too steep.

The bottom floor is large though. I have put in their plastic house as a place to hide and sleep. They also have a hay rack and toys in there.

The second hutch is like this one -

It has the same amount of floor space as the last one but I do not need to put their house in, as it has a sleep room  in it. It does not have any legs, so I have raised it off the floor with 4 wooden planks, so if it rains, it is not sitting in water. They have similar toys and things too. I think I may put a couple of plant pots on top of their hutch :)

We also have a run. The run will be used under supervision when we are in the garden. I do not trust that a cat or something could flip it up.

I intend on spending lots of time in the garden during the summer though, so I am sure they will get plenty of time in it on the grass.

The run is a bit like this - 

It does not have a covered over section though. So I am going to put a guinea pig house in it, so they can get shade and hide if they want to.

They seem to have all gone up in price..... everything in the UK is going up in price at the moment.

I don't mind too much, but some people will suddenly find themselves not doing things because the prices are all so much higher.

So, between now and then - Tomorrow there is not too much planned for the day, just a little more cleaning as the kitchen needs a proper clean and sort out. In the evening we are supposed to be seeing some friends but we still have to confirm it with them. They may be busy now. If we don't see them, then we will do something nice on our own.

Saturday is my family's annual party type thing. All the family meed up for a meal and then drinks and stuff afterwards at someone's house. I never really look forward to it ( well, I look forward to seeing people but generally I find it a stressful day). On Saturday evening I am going to a birthday party. One of my oldest friends (we went to nursery, primary school and secondary school together) is having a party for her mom's 60th birthday and I was invited :) That should be nice too.

There are not any real plans on Sunday apart from preparing myself for my first day at the new job - wash the relevant clothes, sort out some lunch to take etc).

Today Joe and I met Bob (Joe's Dad) for lunch. He took us to the Fountain in Clent. I had iced crab and prawn with rosemary sauce for starter and Mediteranean Vegetable rissoto for my main. It was lovely. After we ate, we took our drinks outside and sat at a table under a parasol :)

When we got back, I finished clearing out the garden. There was lots of garden rubbish around. I bagged it all up and took it all to the tip. I then cleaned up the patio, washed out the drain, brushed the patio. I arranged things nicely on the patio, including the two hutches and the guinea pig run. I cleaned out the hutches and arranged them nicely. I put fresh new sawdust in them, toys, hay racks, hay and food. I purchased two new BIG water bottles, as they go through the water quickly. Then I collected the two pairs of pigs and put them in their hutches :) I got two human water bottles (one evian bottle and one cherry coke bottle) filled them with water and put them in the freezer. They should be frozen by the morning and then if we have another day like today, I can put the bottles in the hutches and then the pigs can sit next to them if they get too warm. :) 

I also treated the guinea pig run with 'teak oil' today, as it is not in the best condition. The wood is very dry and splitting a little. The 'teak oil' is supposed to act like a skin moisturiser. It seemed to put some moisture back into the wood. I will put another coat on tomorrow.

All the garden needs now, is to have the grass cut properly and the broken fence panel picked up.

I saw some garden furniture today on the internet. My Gran sent me a cheque in the post, which I got this morning (it is a 'congratualtions on the new job' cheque). 

The furniture I saw was a green resin round table, green resin chairs (x2), a parasol and a parasol stand. I am going to use the cheque and add another £10 to it to buy the furniture as I love being outside in the summer. It is nice to eat outside, have a drink outside, eat breakfast outside, read outside :) Anything really. The parasol is a very important part of the furniture set..... we need our shade :)

As I am starting my new job at the start of the summer, it means that I shall have all of my evenings free, plus three-three and a half days off per week. This is a great amount of free time to have in the summer :)

I will enjoy eating my breakfast outside before work :)

Tomorrow I must pay £30 to our gas bill. I must also call my Gran to say thanks for the cheque and call the vets to ask exactly when I start next week. I cannot remember if it was the Monday or the Tuesday. Oh, I also have a few bits and pieces to do with the hutches :) Cant wait for the garden furniture.... I just need to wait for a cheque to clear before I can go and buy/order it.

I am going blonde. I decided blonde was a good summer hair colour. I LOVE having dark hair, black is great but I need something a little cooler for the summer. I have not been blonde for about 3 years now, so I am actually looking forward to the change :)

Just waiting for Joe to get back from rehearsal at the moment.... in fact, I have a few things to do before he gats back, so I must go and do them.

Id like to know exactly when I start and stuff. I am really looking forward to getting in to it. I want to know everything. Which books I am going to need, and I am looking forward to trying on my uniform and all that kind of stuff. 

I need to buy something to put my hair up with. I really want some chopsticks, as I think they look really cool. I never got any at the pub because that was definately Lydia's thing and I wanted to leave it for her.  Now I am working somewhere new, I can have 10 chopsticks in my hair. hehe. Not really, 2 will do.

I have a little cooler bag to put my lunch in. It has rabbits and other animals on it. I also have a bright pink flask to take drinks in.  Before I start I need to go out and buy some food that will be especially for lunch. Something that I can make up in the mornings, or the night before and keep in the fridge. Don't know what really. Im thinking sandwiches but really nice sandwiches. Lots of crispy lettuce leaves, maybe some tuna mayo or some fake bacon (not sure what that is like cold though) or something with some red onion (not cheese.... trying to think of healthier options). I'll have a think.

Right, Im back.

So, Joe and I went out for some lunch today. I ate some lovely Sushi :) Yum.

When we got home we decided that our house needs a complete overhaul. Since we didnt have anything in particular to do today, we decided to make a start at it.

The bedroom was the worst. No accessible storage, no room etc. The bed was in the middle of the room, things were in front of draws and it was very impractical!

So, we threw away any rubbish or things we did not want. Then we moved the bed into the far corner. Thew away some furniture and moved things around.  I now have a lovely little corner of the room, where my chest of draws is, my red boudoir chair is, and my Grandma's box is too. On top of the chest of draws are all my Blythes. I have an antique Louis mirror on the wall there too.

We have a white bedside table with an antique style mirror and some photographs in frames on.

There is alot more space in the room now. A massive floor space too :) I might buy a rug :)

I moved around and de cluttered the living room too. It looks so much better, and again, it looks loads bigger. I have cleared up alot more floor space :)

Joe cleaned and cleared the front room downstairs.

We added a two bookcases and a table and chairs to the front upstairs room.

We now have 2 good sized hutches in the garden and a run too. This means the guinea pigs will have a good time when we put them out for the summer :)

We even took a trip to the tip!!!

I cleaned alot of the garden.... it is nearly ready for some summer chairs and a table to  be put out..... along with some lanterns and pretty summer things. Maybe even a bbq. I saw a cool bright pink bbq recently :) Might get it.

I know I am being boring but I have alot too keep my mind off today. I think I did a good job of that. Im going to do some more cleaning and then Joe will pick me up (on his way back from seeing Gaz) and we will go and eat food at Bob's house :)

Seeing Hayley tomorrow :) Yey.

I am still in shock.

I got the job I wanted!!!

The college has lots of fields around it, they have lots of animals living on the college grounds. Cows, sheep, horses etc in the fields. 

They also have a small nature centre with all sorts of animals.

I cannot wait.

Just thought I'd update with a few pics :)

So, as of Monday the 13th of May, I will be training as a Veterinary Nurse :)

I am so excited..... I cant wait. 

The job is 3.5 to 4 days per week, which is 35 to 40 hours per week. That means I get 3 or 3.5 days off per week..... that is until September, when they will send me to college for one day per week. 

I will get a dark blue nurses uniform to wear. I think the trousers are pretty ugly but I like the nurses tops :) Hehe. 

I have no idea what I will be doing first :)

They said they would send me my contract and rota in the post soon. I am looking forward to getting it.

There are a few things I am nervous about...... like having to restrain animals..... I have never had to do that. I have had to pul dogs back when they have tried to start a fight with another dog, but never had to really restrain an animal!! Arrgh.

Looking forward to it all very much though :)

I guess there will not be anymore updates about the job until I get some stuff in the post or until I start.
