On Sunday the 22nd of June we took our beautiful little bunnies to the Bunny hotel, and we left our funny little guinea pigs in the hands of our nextdoor neighbours and a family member.
We then set off for East Midlands Airport. We were going to Paris :) I LOVE Paris :)
Our plane took off from the airport at 4.05pm. Before that, we ate at the airport and sniffed all the duty free parfumes (of which, none took our fancy). Once on the plane, Joe and I fell straight to sleep. We woke up to the pilot telling us that we were about to land in Paris, and it was 27 degrees celcius!! Wow :)
He was right, the weather was amazing, bright blue sky and lots of sun. You could feel the heat coming through the windows of the airport while we waited for our bags to drop onto the carusel.
We got our bags really quickly and headed straight for the RER train, which takes you from the airport to the nearest metro station. We were walking up stairs of a metro station in no time. As we walked up the metro station stairs, a lovely breeze came down the stairs, as the metro tunnels seem to create some kind of wind vacuum!?! We stepped out at our stop and after making one wrong turn, arrived at our hotel. Our hotel by the way was absolutely beautiful :) We couldn't believe our luck :) We went straight up to our room, unpacked and went straight back out to explore :)
At the hotel reception, we had been left a parcel! Catherine (A Parisien friend of Joe's Dad) had been to the hotel before we got there, and left us a letter asking if we wanted to meet for dinner on the Wednesday, and she also left us 2 Carne's (a carne is a week long Metro pass), so we didnt have to use any money at all while we were there for transport! Yey. How lovely of her.
Our hotel :)
Now, I can't write in so much detail anymore, or I will never get through it. So, we had a beautiful time in Paris. It re-confirmed our suspisions that want to live there at some point. The plan may be to move there once I am qualified as a Veterinary Nurse. It is the most beautiful city I have ever been to. It has so much culture. It is the most thought provoking place ever. It is just amazing. We didn't want to leave. We wanted to come home, collect our animals and move there.
Here are a few photographs at Night Time :) -
:) We really wanted one of those house boats. How great would it be to live on the river in the middle of Paris? Some of the house boats were massive too. Some of them had more floor space than our house!! We walked along the river in the evening and it was so calming :) I love the water, and I love watching the the light reflect off the water at night time. Especially in Paris :) Hehe.
Here are some daytime pictures -
Here we have the River Seine. In the daytime.
The river Seine again. This one is a better picture though. We had such lovely blue sky while we were there.
This was one of the views from the top of the department store - Galleries Lafayette. You could actually go onto the roof. There was a restaurant up there, and a really big terrace to sunbathe or just sit.
The Monmartre.... probobly our favorite area of Paris. Is has such a bustling nature. It is very creative and busy and full of interesting people.
The metro station @ La Defense.
This is the Grande Arche at La Defense. You can actually fit the whole of the Notre Dame into the hole in the middle of the arch!! It IS actually THAT big!!
Inside the department store - Galleries Lafayette.
Here is part of the Flower Market. You can see one of the stall owners watering his flowers. How sweet :)
I don't think I really need to say anything about this picture!
The Eiffel Tower through the trees. That is what we could see when we were eating our picnic on my birthday :)
Drinks in the Monmartre.
Here are some pictures of Odeon in Paris -

... tonight, I hope to post about our holiday in Paris and include some pics too :)
I decided to buy Pearl some treats :) The reason I have decided that Pearl should get them, is because she is the only one who would accept them. The first treat is a fabric house..... Pearl is the only one who would not rip it apart! The second is more for me, but without seeing the exact size, I think Pearl is the only one who would fit comfortably into it. I like to give all of my animals lots of space, this includes when they are travelling :)
